We have a really hot sighting and reveal today. Our very own 2005 Boards member megatronix1002 was lucky to find (and buy of course) the new Studio Series #15 Bumblebee & Charlie at his local Target.
This is our first look at this toy, and it is more than a nice surprise. According to the Studio Series Line-up seen before, we were expecting the Studio Series #1 Bumblebee mold (again) with a Charlie mini-figure. To our surprise, the images reveal that this toy is not a simple redeco, but it comes in a bigger box with extra parts for the alt mode, to add a new front bumper, side fenders, rear spoiler and 2 options for the front hood including a cool hot rod engine. While a great addition to the mold, these parts can’t be attached to the robot mode, except the hood attachments. Some fans may have noticed that the original mold had several slots and connectors on the alt mode. Now we see this was indeed planned for this release.
The figure seems to be similar in deco to the original Studio Series #1 Bumblebee, but with some silver paint missing. As another nice surprise, this toy comes with a sticker sheet to apply 2 different sets of extra details and racing marks to the alt mode. According to the images on the back of the box, we have several options to choose.
It’s indeed a surprising find. It’s time to dash to your local Target to see if you are able to grab this mold to add it to your Studio Series collection! Happy hunting everybody!
